Fixing social media, one nudge at a time

Hi! My name is Amber.

I believe social media used to be one of the most powerful creative and social tools we ever built. And somewhere along the way, we got a bit lost on what it could be. I don’t believe we need to swear it off entirely; instead, I think we need to change it for the better. That belief is what motivates about everything I do.

I’m originally an organizational psychologist-turned-digital marketeer, who specializes in social media marketing and influencer marketing. I started my career in a local e-commerce start-up called Puzzle in a Bag, then moved through a communications agency where I picked up some copywriting skills, and am currently in a research role pursuing a PhD in Business Economics.

I focus on the intersection between behavioral economics and digital wellbeing. I believe nudging could be one way to return social media to its glory days, before attention became a currency.

I’m also a storyteller. I care a lot about making sure ideas are understood by all, and science does not stay in its ivory tower. And I still love the art of marketing: crafting a good piece of copy, taking a beautiful photograph or finding the right piece of social content to reach your goal.

I’m from Ghent, Belgium, and always up for an opportunity to talk about new ideas, be challenged, or figure out how to fix the mess that big tech left us together. Shoot me a message!
